Uwe R. Fritsche

Uwe R. Fritsche co-founded the International Institute for Sustainability Analysis and Strategy (IINAS) in 2012 and works there as its Scientific Director. From 1984 to 2010 he worked at the Öko-Institut on sustainable energy, and climate change mitigation.

His expertise is lifecycle and material-flow analysis of energy, materials and transport systems, and in developing sustainability metrics. He works at the national, European and international level, is National Team Leader for IEA Bioenergy Task 40, technical expert to FAO, GEF, IEA, UNEP and UNIDO, and contributes to the Global Bioenergy Partnership.

He is currently project leader of the GLOBALANDS project which aims at developing global standards for sustainable land use, and contributes to several EU and IEA projects on sustainable biomass use.
